“When Boom called me about making a video for Lil’ Aubs and “Rouse House”, there wasn’t anything to think about. The idea of an anthem for the school was just dope. I'm an alumni of Jessie Rouse Elementary, and I wish I had something like that going on back when I was there. The idea made sense…and then I heard the song! I'm like, this is hard! It doesn’t sound corny or was it trying to water down for the school.

Aubrey is nine years old and she’s got a bright future. She is a natural. I showed up I thinking she might be a little shy in front of the camera, but she came out there, turned up, and had all her classmates giving her the energy.

I feel like this can inspire other kids her age, too. Another third, fourth or fifth grader could look up to her and realize, ‘Hey, she did it and it was positive. Look at all the reactions that she got. Maybe I can, too.’ I think it can be something that can be a domino effect and help to spread positivity around.

My advice for her is to keep doing what she’s doing and have fun with it. Set goals and think about the things you want to accomplish, whether they are short-term or long-term. Take a week and just try to write a song. Sure, that's just one song, but you got it done and now you can work on the next one.If you stick to accomplishing the next goal in front of you, all of a sudden, you look up and you’ve accomplished so much in a year.
