This wonderful gentleman, Joe Bento, is a big part of why I am where I am in the cheesemaking world. He showed confidence in me and my cheesemaking that gave me what I needed to do what I do. Joe is the owner of Valley Milk Simply Bottled, the dairy we get our milk from for classes. He battled quite the fight but we lost him yesterday and my heart is broken. The world is a little less kind today.

RAW MILK UPDATE

Good morning. I want to let you know that starting next week the price of raw cows milk is going to go up. Still significantly cheaper than the stores as well as significantly higher quality milk.

New Prices:

A1 Cow's Milk - $10 a gallon
A2 Cow's Milk - $12 a gallon

It is my understanding that half gallons of goat and sheep milk will stay at the same price - $8 goat, $12 sheep. I will let you know if that changes.

Did a sourdough class today so experimented with a batch of the dough and made some hamburger sourdough buns. Think they turned out pretty good.
