Eppie's Kids Duathlon Join Eppie's Great Race and the Nicolas' Garden teams on Sunday, October 18, 2015, to run, cycle and have Farm-to-Fork fun on the American River Parkway!

Children in age brackets from four – 13 years, are invited to run and cycle on special courses around Sacramento’s Discovery Park and the American River Parkway, during the Eppie’s Kids Duathlon. The new Duathlon course sites will allow parents and friends to watch and cheer on their kid competitors throughout the races. As soon as the competitors cross the finish line, the whole family will enjoy

fun, hands-on cooking and gardening activities, fitness obstacle courses, bounce houses and climbing walls, free health screenings, food and entertainment, among others. The participants are also invited to complete other fun, fitness stations, and then leave the event with their, “President’s Challenge” Fitness Patch and Certificate. At the event, all attending children and families will be encouraged to learn more about growing and gardening, as well as cooking easy, healthy meals with Sacramento Celebrity Chef and Entrepreneur Nicolas Come, inventor of the, “Nicolas’ Garden” Mobile App and digital platform. All participants will also receive goodie bags, shirts, and prizes. And the first 400 children registering in the event will receive a free Redwood Tree seedling, courtesy of Meek’s Lumber, to plant at home.
