Hello everyone! We are officially postponing the Equitable Action Run Towards Health to September 30th, 2023 and we hope you will join us! Same place, same mission! This event is about more than running, though running is just one of many ways we can show up for each other. We want to gather as a community of people who understand our larger connectivity to each other. What hurts some, hurts all of us. The same goes for our interrelations with ecosystems around us. This is not only about the wood pellet biomass industry, it is about what the industry represents in our larger connection with each other, how current systems are failing us, and how we need to come together to repair relationships. When we think about health equity in the U.S., that is inextricably linked to political systems and disconnect with ecosystems, causing further harm to humans and our shared planet. What has been happening in Gloster and many communities across the United States is another form of violence that should not be pushed aside. When you and your community's needs are not represented at various levels of systemic regulation, you get left behind.

You'll ask, 'How is any of this related to running a little trail race?'. Running is not only a way to connect with your surroundings, through subconscious analysis of the landscape, how the Earth feels beneath your feet, the intimate feedback between breath and fresh air. Running is communal. It is a communal act in the relationship with your surroundings, but also with other people. This is what makes the practice and concept of the EARTH event powerful. We want collective movement, physical and social, for all intents and purposes. Whether that is to show up in community and meet other people who like to run and walk in the woods, or show up and have conversations about health equity, what we envision as a society for everyone's future, and put that into more action by registering to vote. The inherent act of being together and having these discussions about health equity, the freedom to just 'be', and people power for the planet is what will get attention and carry us forward.

So if this all sounds good to you and you like to frolick through the woods or give it a shot, please join us! All are welcome! Whether you live in Mississippi or not, these discussions are larger than one town and making change takes as many people (and steps) as possible.

Cheers!
