The game is named in honor of its founder, the late Marvin “Stump” Martin, who served for many years as a sportswriter in the Tri-State Area and host of “Stump On Sports Late Nite”, which ran on cable in the north Georgia and Chattanooga market for nearly 35 years. Martin passed away in 2018.

He left a long legacy of supporting high school athletes and coaches. No one covered the North Georgia area like Stump did. He was "Google" before there was "Google". There were so many times I'd be with Stump and someone would walk up to him and start with, "You probably don't remember, but..." and Stump would not only remember the story, he'd also remember the person telling it, and something about that person's family. He never ceased to amaze me with his memory of all things North Georgia.

You can just look at the list of record-holders in this game and see a lot of very successful baseball players. But the number of players who have played in this game, gone on to college and pro careers is staggering.

Our intent with this page is to honor the man who started it, raise its profile in the area, and give kids one last chance to wear their high school uniform.

Stay tuned for a list of sponsors and opportunities for you or your business to partner with us on this event.

Welcome to the page! We will be building this page out with all-time records, notable moments and players, and single-game records soon.

The 2025 game will be on Tuesday, June 3 at Ridgeland High School.

I will be reaching out to local baseball coaches to get their nominees in the next few months. Invitations for the game will be delivered to each player and I'll be updating the list of those who have committed to play.

This game has been a fun tradition over the last 20+ years and I wanted to honor it in a place where everyone can see.

Thank you for liking the page. More updates to come!
