Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI

Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI Portage County Fair - Rosholt, Wisconsin is a central Wisconsin 4-H fair held each year over Labor Day weekend.
(1)

The fair continues to expand and grow each year, while keeping a small town feel. The Rosholt Fair was begun by action of the Rosholt Advancement Association at a meeting held on May 10th of 1921. At this meeting it was decided to hold a picnic in conjunction with the the Portage County Guernsey Breeders Association to be held on June 15th of that year. As this was a success it was further decided

to make this "Fair" an annual event. The Fair became an Official Fair by action of the committee on July 11 of 1922 when it was decided to move the date of this event to Labor Day and be known as the "Rosholt Community Free Fair". It was recognized as the official Portage County Fair by the Portage County Board of Supervisors in 1926.

Many hands make for light work, even if those hands are those of the local 7th and 8th graders :) Students from Rosholt Middle School spent the afternoon of Wednesday, May 13th tidying up around town, with approximately 100 of them tackling your favorite Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI ♡ Students painted, stained, stacked wood, spread mulch, and cleaned up around the Bingo Stand and the Ball Diamond. They say children are the future. If they're all as awesome as these kids, we'll definitely be in good hands. Thank you Rosholt Middle School!

Dear Friends,

In this season of giving, we’d like to help the food pantry in Rosholt provide area families that could use a little backup with a festive holiday meal. So far we are at 15 towards our goal of 25. Thank you to all those that have donated so far. Our goal is to provide 25 families with a ham, dinner rolls, instant/scalloped potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned peas, canned carrots and a pie. As we all know hams are expensive, but we’ve teamed up with Amherst Family Foods to make this goal at a reasonable cost. We have arranged to pickup tomorrow as this Monday is the last day the food pantry will be open before Christmas. The cost of a ham is $25 and the cost for the complete dinner along with some extra treats is $50. Please donate what you can. For each $25 donation, donors will be entered to win a Family 4 Pack (valued at $380) for the 100th Annual Portage County Fair!

The food pantry could also use an additional new upright freezer. Please consider donating with Venmo below or message us for other ways to give. Thank you!

Don’t forget that Santa will be at the Enchanted Forest tonight. Due to the cold, the petting zoo is canceled for the safety of the animals. Thanks for your understanding.
