I am pleased to announce the sale of my new book, My Town, My School, and My County, available at www.fortpearsallpress.com for $40. Within the pages of the book are three years of my articles previously published in the Hampshire Review. Many of these articles are about Romneyโs history, its businesses, cemeteries, and how we survived the Civil War. Of special interest is a history of the Parsons Bell Tower located at Indian Mound Cemetery. Included in the book is conceptual art work of the Old Presbyterian Cemetery once located along Gravel Lane with a beautifully written article from 1860 about the souls that were buried there. A pictorial history of the W. Va. Schools for the Deaf and the Blind until 1988 by Seldon Brannon is included along with Civil War journals & scrapbooks of Confederate soldiers Benjamin Markwood Haines, Joseph M. Kern, & John Starnes.
As a result of using the work of Mr. Brannon and Pvt. Kern, I will be donating $2.50 from each retail sale to the American Legion, Post #91 and the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation.
The book is a large format, soft-bound, with black/white & color pictures, 258 pages, tax is included in the price.
