Big news! 📣

In case you missed the announcement at the festival, we’re thrilled to partner with 2801 Productions to launch a brand-new Screenwriting Competition! This is an exciting new extension of the festival designed to support and spotlight emerging filmmakers.

The winning project will receive full production support, creating a unique opportunity to bring an original story to life on screen. Entries will be judged by an accomplished panel of industry professionals and award-winning filmmakers, including Emmy-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser.

We can’t stop thinking about how incredible RSFF 2026 was. We are endlessly grateful to everyone who played a part in making this festival possible. To our jurists, volunteers, filmmakers, sponsors, board, and attendees: you are what make this festival so special. 👏

This year, we screened 84 films, each one a reflection of the passion, creativity, and dedication of talented filmmakers from around the world.

Join us for our next masterclass with Allison Gibson and explore the craft of screenwriting. 🎞️

A proud WGA member, Allison has extensive experience developing for ABC, CBS, WB, UPN, Nick at Night, Disney Channel, Lifetime, Fox, Warner Brothers, Disney, and CBS Studios. She has served as Writer/Producer on more than ten different staffs, including Home Improvement, Boy Meets World, Two Guys and a Girl, and Awkward. She was the Creator/EP/Showrunner of Reba. In 2025, she served as an Adjunct Professor in the MFA program at University of Southern California where she supervised the writing of thesis films.
