Submit Your Entries
Submit your entries online like you would for a traditional collegiate competition. The Zoom Ball offers categories for “Couples” (same-sex and reverse role couples are allowed) and “Solos” (one person dancing the Leader’s or Follower’s part by themself). Visit www.ZoomBallDance.com/register for full registration rules, events offered, and to register for the event.
2. Recei
ve Your Music Files
Once you have completed registration, you will receive an email with .mp3 files for all of the dances you enter. For example, if you enter all five dances in Bronze and Silver Latin, plus all five dances in Follower’s Only Bronze Latin, you will receive 15 .mp3 files.
3. Record Your Dancing
Record and submit 90 seconds of your dancing for each dance you enter. Visit www.ZoomBallDance.com/submit-videos for full video submission instructions.
4. On Saturday, October 31st, your dancing will be aired online and judged LIVE simultaneously with all of the other competitors in your event. For example, let’s say there are 48 couples entered in Silver American Waltz. The first round of the event will be broken into 4 heats, each with 12 couples shown in a 4 x 3 grid on the screen at once. Judges from across the country and around the world will remotely recall couples LIVE to the next round. The results will be tabulated, and 36 couples will be recalled to the second round. From the original 48 videos submitted, the 36 that are recalled will be played once again, this time in 3 heats of 12. This process will continue from round to round and will be curated by a Professional Emcee, just like in a traditional competition. In the Final, the top 6 couples will be ranked 1st - 6th Place. Results will be announced live at the end of each session, and ribbons, medals, and overall awards will be mailed out to all competitors after the competition.
