Frequently asked questions part 2:
7) What implements do each age group/gender throw?
See the pictures below for the Throws Pent and the Ultras. These tables can also be found in the USATF rulebook.
8) How does the schedule work?
Saturday: Flight 1 starts at Hammer; when they move to Shot, Flight 2 starts at Hammer, etc. When the 5th flight starts, all venues will have activities in them. It is a rolling schedule between flights, so only the Flight 1 start time is set. We have run as much as 45 minutes early so subsequent flights need to be ready
Sunday: We start 3 flights at once on three separate rings. For flights that throw the 98,200 and 300, they will then move to the Ultras Square. It is a rolling schedule as it is on Saturday.
9) Are there awards? Yes, medals for 1st thru 3rd in each age group, ribbons for 4th thru 6th
Also, there are cash awards for: Top 5 Women/top 5 Men in the Throws Pent (across age groups); Top 5 Women/top 5 Men in the Ultras Pent and top 3 Women/Top 3 Men in the SuperWeight Champs. Cash awards are sponsored by the Mark A Chapman foundation and the Chicagoland Masters Athletic Club.
