Based on limitation guidelines by SC Government for in-person events we are cancelling our Bunny Hop 5K Walk at Winthrop Coliseum scheduled for April 11, 2020 and will instead be hosting a VIRTUAL 5K Walk. We are saddened that the event cannot be hosted as planned, as we had looked forward to seeing all of you, and meeting new people. However we are excited to offer the virtual option. Just because we cannot gather as a group doesn’t mean that we will not have the opportunity to support those Ocular Melanoma patients currently battling this disease, and celebrate those that are survivors.
We cannot allow COVID-19 to deter us from our mission to raise funds for Ocular Melanoma patient assistance and raise public awareness of this deadly disease.
Special thanks to those of you who had volunteered to help on event day at the Winthrop Coliseum. We will not be needing any volunteers for the VIRTUAL 5k Walk. Thank you for caring.
VIRTUAL Bunny Hop 5K Walk
1. VIRTUAL Event Close date/time April 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM
2. Each registered participant (walker) is asked to complete a 5K (3.1 mile) walk at a location of their choice (neighborhood, city park, school athletic track, etc).
3. Participants can complete the walk from time this email is received until the close date and time of April 11, 2020 10:00 AM.
4. Participant to notify Bunny Hop Staff of date walk completed via e-mail to [email protected] Staff will record finish date on official event record.
5. Each person submitting date they completed a 5K walk will receive a Bunny Hop 5K finisher medal.
6. Medals and T-shirts will be available for pick up at the following YMCA location on April 11, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. If you are unable to pick up our event packet it will be mailed to you.

NOTE: Cut off date for T-shirts is midnight March 30, 2020. Vendor requires two weeks lead time to screen print shirts.

Attention FUNDRAISERS!!!
As noted in our Bunny Hop web page, walkers are welcome to raise funds for participating in this event by soliciting others to sponsor them for completing the 5K walk. Minimum donation is $1.00 per mile or $3.00. Fundraisers will compete for top fundraiser trophies (10 each) and all fundraisers will receive a fundraiser medal. Donations to be turned in to Event packet pick-up table on April 11, 2020 at YMCA. Fundraisers will receive the Fundraiser Medal when turning in donations at the YMCA location, Top 10 Trophies will be awarded at 1:00 PM on April 11, 2020 at YMCA. If you cannot attend the 1:00 PM award ceremony we will mail the trophy to you.
