Maker Faire Rochester

Maker Faire Rochester The Greatest Show and Tell on Earth of Makers, Performers, Dreamers, and Doers.

Maker Faire Rochester is a festival to celebrate those who love to make, create, learn, play, invent, craft, hack, build, think and be inspired by science, technology, engineering, arts, music, and crafts. We celebrated our first event in November of 2014 with over 90 maker exhibits from across Western New York and 1,500 visitors of all ages in attendance. The day was filled with exciting exhibitions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for all ages. In addition, there was interesting presentations, speakers, live music, and visual and performing arts. Several of the exhibits from our first year included:

* A world record breaking sculpture made entirely out of toothpicks
* Soldering workshop with an electronic badge that you could take home
* Records you could paint, a community mural, and a knitting machine
* Hands-on robotics
* Board and computer games created by Rochesterians
* A Giant Seesaw that anyone could play on
* 3D printers, CNC machines, and other leading-edge inventions and technologies
* Student projects from local schools and colleges

Returning Maker! 🐝 ⚙️

From the Maker: "It Begins in Brockport (IBiB) is a makerspace located in Brockport New York. We promote creativity, learning, and innovation through access to digital fabrication tools and free workshops for the community. IBiB has laser and vinyl cutters, 3D printers, a CNC mill, and electronics to help turn creative ideas into reality. We also enjoy building community by encouraging members and visitors to share their knowledge and skills with others."

They were a huge hit at last year’s Maker Faire we’re hoping to see them back this year!

Educational puppet shows and social emotional learning programs for schools, libraries, childcare, summer camps and senior living communities across the Finger Lakes and Western NY.
