Five of us just returned from an epic 7 day (including travel), 2100 mile tour around Northern California, starting and ending in San Fran. We flew out, and rented bikes for this daisy-chain trip.

The route, weather, and local people far exceeded our expectations!
Highlights included:
San Fran "steepest streets" tour
PCH to mountains crisscrossing (50 to 90F in 20miles)
Avenue of Giants
Lassen Volcanic Nat Park
East Lake Tahoe "flyby"
Bodie Ghost town
Yosemite drive through
All 3 highest passes in California (Monitor, Sonora, Tioga)
And even took a Waymo to our staging hotel!

Last Friday a group of us caved in and made the 150 mile trek to the normally quiet town of Port Dover, Ontario Canada, for their famous "Friday the 13th" rally to see what it is all about.

Started in 1981 by a few friends reuniting for a night out, it has since grown to routinely bring up to 100,000 riders and enthusiests each time the 13th falls on a Friday, no matter what month. This was the 77th in 43 years. Proceeds from the event fund charity groups and town improvements, so many locals support (or at least endure) the few days of disruption up to a few times a year~

Our visit was pretty much as we expected, but there is something quite special about seeing so many riders come together so close to home.
