We look forward to seeing you again on the field in a few weeks on Father's Day Vintage Base Ball Festival!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved teammate and brother, Mike “Dynamite” Adkins.

Mike has been a part of the Roosters family since 2003. For more than two decades, he anchored our infield as a talented shortstop, set the standard as a strong, silent leader and, recently, led our club as captain. He didn’t need to be the loudest voice on the field — his work ethic, steady presence, and love for the game and his teammates spoke louder than words ever could.

More than the double plays turned or the games he helped us win, Mike was our friend. He was someone we could count on — on the field and off. His impact on this team and our community will never be forgotten.

We can only imagine him now, up in the clouds, throwing the ball around with Turfdog and keeping the infield sharp.

You will be deeply missed, Dynamite. Thank you for everything you gave to this team, this game, and all of us.

100 Years!! 🎉

Did you know?

In 1926, Babe Ruth led Major League Baseball with 47 home runs and famously hit three home runs in Game 4 of the World Series. Despite his dominant performance, it wasn’t enough for the New York Yankees.

Trailing 3–2 in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 7, Ruth was thrown out attempting to steal second base—securing the first-ever World Series championship for the St. Louis Cardinals.

This unforgettable moment happened the very same year the History Center of Olmsted County first opened its doors—and it remains the only World Series ever to end on a “caught stealing.”

On behalf of the History Center, we would like to extend an invitation to join us for the kick-off celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Olmsted County Historical Society on Saturday, January 17th beginning at 1:00pm. The event will officially open our new Faces & Places exhibit featuring those instrumental in the founding and expansion of the organization, and the places it has called home. Stop by to enjoy the story of our past and the plans for our future, as well as a great demonstration and hands-on chance to operate a vintage printing press with artist Devon Hugdahl; did we mention there will be cake?
