Virginia Commonwealth Games For all ages and all skill levels! The joy is in playing the game! This annual event is held in July (for most sports) and is open to all ages and skill levels.

Going into its 37th year, the Virginia Commonwealth Games, is known throughout Virginia as Virginia's Olympics. From archery to wrestling, this event offers sports competition venues for 35+ different Olympic and Pan American sports. With it's tagline of "Inspiring wellness & competition," the Virginia Commonwealth Games represent the true spirit of amateur athletics. For some, this celebration of

sport is a stepping stone for following the dream of representing the United States in the Olympic Games. For others, the Games are a place to compete in a favorite pastime. Regardless of the age or skill of the athlete, the Games provide the pure pleasure of competing for the love of sport.

Virginia Amateur Sports is proud to announce 11-year-old Priya Capizzi of Fairfax Station as the 2025 Virginia Youth Athlete of the Year!

In just under two years in wrestling, Priya has become a force—going 8-0 at the 2025 Virginia Commonwealth Games with seven pins, one tech fall, and zero offensive points allowed. Every pin came in under a minute. She’s also a two-time VAWA Girls Folkstyle State Champion and a USA Wrestling National Finalist.

We’re proud to recognize her incredible talent, hard work, and rapid rise in the sport. 💪🔥
