Riverton Fair

10/02/2026

🎡 We’re just one week away from the Riverton Fair! While you’re counting down with us, be sure to check out the Harwinton Fair this weekend and show our fellow fair some love! ❤️

Then join us in Riverton October 9–11 for even more fair fun! 🍂🎉

🍳 Have you ever competed in the Women’s Skillet Throw at the Riverton Fair?

It’s so much fun! A bunch of ladies cheering each other on while tossing a 5-pound skillet as far as they can—come join the fun! 💪😂

📅 Saturday, October 10, 2026
🕡 6:30 PM
📍 Pulling Ring

Four age brackets: 16–29 • 30–45 • 46–63 • 64 & over

🍳 Here’s how it works:

• Skillets are provided by the Fair.
• Throws must be straight out and underhand.
• Practice throws are allowed before the competition begins.
• Each contestant gets two throws; the better throw counts.
• Distance is measured where the skillet first hits the course.
• Crossing the foul line disqualifies that throw.
• First-place winners from each age group compete in a throw-off, with the best of two throws deciding the top winner.
• Fair officials have the final say in any dispute.

⏰ Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the competition starts!

Then, if you win in Riverton, come back the next day and compete—or just watch—with the rest of the Litchfield County Fair skillet toss winners.

🏆 Women’s Skillet Toss Throw-Off: Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

Tag a friend who should give it a try! Who’s ready to let that skillet fly? 🍳🙌
