🇨🇴 PATACORÉ EN SO CAL 🌴

Mucho Gusto is proud to help bring Patacoré from Colombia’s Pacific coast to Southern California and even happier to be part of a larger community of artists, cultural spaces, and organizers coming together to support their Desde La Raíz Tour.

Rooted in the musical traditions of Colombia’s Pacific coast, Patacoré carries the sounds of marimba, drums, voice and dance shaped by Afro-Colombian communities and generations of tradition. Bringing this music to Southern California creates an opportunity not only to hear it live, but to learn, dance, exchange and build connections between communities across borders.

Leading up to Mucho Gusto, they’ll be moving throughout LA, OC + the IE, performing and sharing the tradition through workshops:

Founding member of Chicano Batman, É Arenas has carved out a sound all his own, bringing together cumbia, quebraditas, tropical rhythms, and the sounds of Los Angeles.

From headline performances at The Ford and Grand Performances to his work as composer for American Pachuco, winner of the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, É Arenas continues to take his music to new heights.

After joining us on the decks for the Mucho Gusto Summer Series, he returns with his live band for the festival. Come dance with us as the sun goes down. 🌴🪩

Join Colombian group PATACORÉ for an intimate workshop exploring the marimba and drums of Colombia’s Pacific Coast.

Coming from Tumaco, Nariño, PATACORÉ carries a musical tradition rooted in community, rhythm, movement and the sounds of the marimba. Just days before they take the stage at Mucho Gusto Fest, they’ll share some of that knowledge with us here in Riverside.
