Wheat Land Communities’ Fair

Wheat Land Communities’ Fair Visit Adams County's oldest community fair! Join us Labor Day Weekend where we'll be "Having a Ball!"

Organized over 40 years ago in an effort to continue the tradition of a fair in Eastern Adams County. The communities of Benge, Lind, Ritzville, and Washtucna pulled together the creative inspiration and perseverance of many dedicated volunteers, to finance and relocate the fair to it’s current location. The fair offers many opportunities for families to enjoy fun, exciting, and memorable activites!

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on those who make our fair and community a great place to grow. This fall, we recognized the Jake & Alice Weber Family. Jake was a great supporter of youth in agriculture, many a youth hog projects were made possible because of his desire to see the next generation be engaged in ag production. Alice has served as Superintendent and 4-H leader, remaining active in the East Adams Leaders Council.

Daughters Hillary, Ellen and Rebecca joined Alice at the 2025 Jr Livestock Sale for the sale dedication and commemoration of the upgrades to the washrack with funds made in Jake's memory. Thank you to all who contributed and to Jeff Greenwalt, Ethan Davis, and Colby and Maria Greenwalt for your time and expertise in completing this project.

‼What a day, what a sale‼

Thank you to all who joined us for the best sale to date! The gross sale was $247,747 on 84 lots. The sale value far exceeded last year's record gross and goes right back to youth exhibitors to cover their input costs, invest in next year's project, and jumpstart their futures. What a great community we serve!
Special thanks to: Booker2Bid & Booker Auction Co, Dr. Tim Johnstone, Bronco Farm Supply, KD Consulting, and more for being part of our community. We appreciate you all!

On Sunday afternoon, President Fritz chose his "fair favorites"

Janet Manke and Stephanie Stokoe each received the President's Choice Award. Janet has helmed the Rabbit, Poultry, & Cavies Department for nearly two decades and serves on the Board of Directors. Her leadership is a shining example to our fair and community.

Stephanie has announced her retirement as our Preserved Foods Superintendent after nine years and we are going to miss her excellent stewardship and creative decorations.

Tanner Marecz garnered the "Sweat of the Brow" Award for his 80+ hours heading up the remodel of the picnic tables. A much needed and even more appreciated project.

What goes up, must come down. Thanks for making it all worthwhile. Until next year!
