Zombies at the Zoo is open Fridays & Saturdays, October 10 - November 1 from 7-10PM. In 1702 Jeremiah Brown Sr. came to the Nottingham Lots, in what is now Rising Sun, MD. He built a home, water corn and gristmill, as well as a saw mill on the site as listed in the Maryland Historical Registrar. There are many stories that surround the land, the gristmill and Jeremiah Brown, some of which are comi

ng back to haunt the Plumpton Park Zoo which has taken home to Jeremiah Brown's land. In 2012 Plumpton Park Zoo reported a "zombie" attack on some of the animals at the zoo including the giraffe, black bear, python and siamang apes. It is still a mystery as to where, and what the zombies are and what caused the attack at Plumpton Park Zoo. Luckily, thanks to the help of numerous volunteers, Plumpton Park Zoo was able to capture and safely contain the "zombie" animals. In 2013 Plumpton Park Zoo will be opening a new "Zombie Zoo". The first of its kind in the world! Featuring the zombie animals as well as other zombies that have emerged from the woods behind the zoo. The zoo has been working non-stop since the outbreak in 2012 to find a cure to the rabies-like disease. Guests got a behind the scenes tour of the Zombie Zoo and even ventured into the woods and found the source of the Zombies!

Hurricane Ida isn't going to stop our volunteers! They have cleaned up the woods and we will be ready! Come get scared for the best cause. This is our biggest fundraiser to help feed the animals during the winter months. We will have 3 attractions, Haunted Woods ($15), Fright Maze ($15) and Zombie Paintball ($25), sponsored by RobinHood Paintball. Combo tickets for all three ($40) available, if you dare. We will run it 7-10pm. Buy a combo ticket and get a 10% discount at the Gift Shop tent when you check in.

This is an all scare event. No scare bracelets. Be advised, please do not bring little ones. Touching is possible with the way the trail runs.

Zombies at the Zoo needs you! Looking for volunteers to help run our biggest fundraiser of the year. We need actors, make up artist, sets built. If you would like to help in any area, we are having sign ups at the zoo on Saturday July 24th from 1-4pm. Come join a fantastic group of long time volunteers. Great for Highschool students who need to earn their hours for graduation. Great for theatre students to get actor experience. We offer incentives for each week you volunteer. This fundraiser is to help feed the animals during the winter months.
