Big League Dreams Alcohol and Drug Policy
To All Coaches:
Big League Dreams Manteca is experiencing an increasing problem with customers not following the alcohol and drug use policies. Customers are having tail gate parties where drinking and smoking is rampant, even though there are signs posted outlawing the drinking.
Customers are bringing in alcohol purchased outside of the premises in the form of cans and bottles during league play, and in the form of thermos containers full of alcohol during tournament play. Customers are actively partaking in the smoking of Ma*****na, which may not be against the state law but is not allowed in any Big League Dreams facilities.
The Plan:
Effective Saturday February 9, 2019 following are the steps Big League Dreams will be taking to begin to eliminate these problems.
League nights: There will be an increase in patrol. Patrol will be writing down license plates of all vehicles entering the parking lot and cruising the parking lot looking for illegal alcohol or drug use. If illegal alcohol or drug use is found in the parking lot, patrol will be asking customers to cease and desist, and will be taking pictures of license plates for future follow up if necessary. In addition, patrol and coordinators will be making hourly dugout visits looking for illegal alcohol or drugs that might have entered the facility.
Tournaments: Additional patrol will be added, including weekday tournaments. Patrol will be writing down license plates of all vehicles entering the parking lot and cruising the parking lot looking for illegal alcohol or drug use. If alcohol or drug use is found in the parking lot, patrol will be asking customers to cease and desist, and will be taking pictures of license plates for future follow up if necessary.
Because of the problems Big League Dreams Manteca is experiencing, outside promoters my not bring alcoholic beverages into the facility at any time including fund raising raffles. Gate staff will turn away any customers with alcoholic beverages, and be looking into mugs and cups for alcoholic beverages.
Penalty: If any customer is observed breaking these rules in the parking lot and/or inside the facility, they will be asked to leave for the day and given a warning. A second offense will result in suspension from the facility for an undisclosed period of time.
