Sharing for the Family of Jeff Duntonâ¤ď¸
Those people who have invested in the lives of others before themselves eventually need support, too.
After a long and difficult battle with serious health problems, Jeff Dunton, a beloved husband, friend, neighbor, and community servant has passed away, leaving behind his dear wife, Andrea, a tremendous financial burden that neither of them ever expected to face.
His illness brought repeated hospital stays, major surgeries, extensive medical treatment, and mounting medical expenses. Over time, his retirement savings were used to pay for his care. Other expenses had to take a back seatâhome repairs, maintenance, and bills that simply could not be addressed while his health and medical needs came first.
They did what families do when someone they love is sick: they focused on getting him through the next day, the next surgery, the next hospital stay. They worried about the bills later.
Now, there are bills that cannot wait.
His passing has brought another significant round of medical and final expenses, on top of the financial challenges that had already accumulated during his illness. His wife is now facing these expenses alone, while also trying to maintain their home and adjust to a life she never imagined having to live without him.
But this story is about more than bills.
He was a man who believed in giving back.
He gave his time and talents freely to the people and organizations around him. He volunteered with Dallas FFA, served as a Polk County 4-H leader, and spent many years proudly serving with the Spring Valley Fire Department and Dallas Fire Department. He was there when people needed him. He helped his neighbors, supported his community, and gave generously of himselfâoften without anyone asking and without expecting anything in return.
He spent a lifetime being the person others could count on.
Today, his wife, Andrea, needs people to be that person for her.
We are asking our community, friends, family, and everyone whose life he touched to consider helping ease the financial burden she is now carrying. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. It will help with outstanding medical and final expenses, household bills, and necessary home maintenance that had been deferred during his illness.
A donation cannot take away her grief or fill the space he left behind. But it can give her something incredibly important right now: a little breathing room.
If you knew him, you know how readily he would have stepped up to help someone else in this situation. If you didnât know him personally, you can still be part of honoring the kind of life he livedâa life spent serving others and making his community a better place.
