Richmond, we need to talk.
For a minute, it looked like DreamHaus might not make it.
Opening a business is hard. Opening an arts venue, restaurant, theater, cabaret, event, and nightlife space in this economy has been something else entirely.
And if we’re being honest, the financial reality has been the hardest part.
We have made mistakes. We have learned painful lessons. We have had to pause, rethink, rebuild, and ask ourselves what DreamHaus is really here to become.
And the answer kept coming back to this:
Richmond deserves safer nightlife.
Richmond deserves more stages.
Richmond deserves rooms where artists, weirdos, dreamers, qu**rs, dancers, musicians, and neighbors can actually gather.
So we kept going.
After working with the city, DreamHaus was approved 9–0 by City Council for nightclub use.
This gives us the ability to stay open later, create a clear dance floor, and host more intentional nightlife programming when we choose to activate that side of the space.
But this is not just about staying open late.
This is about building a nightlife culture with care, creativity, accountability, and community at the center.
So we’re launching our next chapter:
FULL MOON FEST
May 30
An all-day into-night celebration of local artists, vendors, performers, music, food, movement, and nightlife.
This is a community-powered celebration for everyone who believes Richmond deserves spaces like this.
Every ticket, vendor booth, sponsorship, drink, plate, and shared post helps DreamHaus keep going and helps us build the safer, stranger, more beautiful nightlife culture we know Richmond is ready for.
More details are coming soon, including how to attend, perform, vend, volunteer, sponsor, and help us shape what comes next.
Thank you for sticking with us through the messy beginning. We are learning. We are growing. And we are still dreaming.
