Walk for Peace
As many of you may already know, a group of 24 monks is walking from Texas to Washington D.C. They are expected to be in Richmond by February 1st. We are in contact with the lead organizer for the monks so we'll be updated on the estimated arrival times.
Richmond Peace Education Center (https://www.facebook.com/RPEC.ORG), Interfaith Community of Greater Richmond (ICGR) and other organizations are making plans to welcome them as they walk through the greater Richmond area. We envision having teams/groups of people from various faiths and peace-loving organizations create a chain of well-wishers, possible along Rt 1/301 OR East Coast Greenway Route as they travel from Petersburg to Richmond and north to DC. We encourage all groups to join us in creating peace doves to hold as they pass us.
If you (and your group/club/family) would like to participate in creating the peace doves and greeting the monks, please complete the attached form so we can send you the pattern for the Peace Dove and keep you updated.
