One of our favorite stories from a past Historians on Tap program led to months of research into West Point's infamous Christmas Eggnog Riot.

I'm excited to present this new lecture in the Richmond area on December 3 as we approach the riot's 200th anniversary. Drawing on court-martial testimony, eyewitness accounts, we'll separate fact from legend and uncover what really happened on Christmas night in 1826.

I'm also making this program available to museums, breweries, libraries, and other groups looking for a program later this year in honor of the 200th anniversary. If you're interested in hosting the lecture, feel free to reach out!

A little rescheduling couldn’t keep the luck away!

After weather pushed us to a new date, we were thrilled to see such a great turnout last night for our “Luck of the Irish” program at . A big thank you to our special guests, Jake Wynn and Chris Reihl, for sharing some fun stories and helping make the night such a success.

What an incredible night for Unruly Women at Veil Brewing.

We’re still buzzing from our biggest crowd yet here in Richmond. Thank you to everyone who showed up, listened, laughed, and celebrated these powerful stories with us.

A huge thank you to our amazing special guests, Adrienne Robertson, Alison Herring, and Kate Egner, for bringing their stories, insights, and passion to the program. And thanks to Henrico County Recreation & Parks and American Battlefield Trustfor sponsoring the event.

We explored the lives of groundbreaking and courageous women who challenged the rules, pushed boundaries, and changed history. These are the stories that deserve to be told and remembered.

Until next time—stay curious, stay unruly.

Not sure if it was the messy love stories or THE Rich Condon as our special guest, but we had a full house at The Collective Encore last night! People love their history chaotic, dramatic, and a little unhinged…basically our brand at Historians on Tap.

Alison may look unconvinced about whether the civilians should have been imprisoned, but it was a great night at Blue Bee Cider We were blown away (pun intended—from Alison’s story) by the turnout.

We wanted to honor the late Bill Martin with local stories we think he would’ve enjoyed: Richmond almost being blown up, enslaved people getting some well-earned retribution, and plenty of political-prisoner drama.

Huge thanks to Emmanuel Dabney and Alison Herring for being special guests at one of our highest-attended programs to date!
