Richfield Penn Fest is a popular street festival that draws 7,000 to 10,000 people to Penn Avenue in Richfield. The event closes Penn Avenue in Richfield to motorized traffic. The street is filled with live music, dance, crafts, arts, community groups, marketplace vendors and business exhibits. Richfield Penn Fest will be held on Sunday, September 20 from 12 noon to 5 pm. Richfield Penn Fest is a popular event attended by many people, but there are always some who haven't heard of our annual community celebration. Here are a few common questions we get.

Q: What is Penn Fest?
A: It's our annual street festival held on Penn Avenue in Richfield. The street is closed to motorized traffic on a Sunday afternoon. Walkers, bikers and skateboarders take to the street to explore exhibits and attractions. Penn Fest this year will be on Sunday, September 20 from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Q: How long has Penn Fest been around?
A: The first Penn Fest was in 2008. The first few Penn Fests were small events limited to sidewalks and parking lots of Penn Avenue businesses. In 2012, Penn Fest expanded to be a full street festival with Penn Avenue closed to traffic.

Q: What can I see and do at Penn Fest?
A: Penn Fest is an eclectic event with live music, dance, sports, games, arts & crafts, community groups, BMX bike demos, marketplace vendors, family-friendly kids' activities, exhibits and more. New in 2026 will be a classic car show.

Q: Is there anything to eat at Penn Fest?
A: YES! Local Richfield restaurants and food trucks will be serving up delicious eats.

Q: Is Penn Fest dog friendly?
A: Yes, in fact, there is a special section called the Pet Zone with many pet-related vendors, exhibitors and activities.

Q: How many people aten Penn Fest?
A: Penn Fest is a FREE non-ticketed event with multiple points of entry. So it's an estimate, but we believe 6,000 to 10,000 people have attended in recent years.

One of the ways we program Richfield Penn Fest is to create some specialty zones. A great example is our Art Zone with live-on-the-street and participatory art. It's an opportunity to explore creativity in a fun and lighthearted way. Our goal at Penn Fest is to have a wide variety of activities to appeal to a cross-secion of people. Our friends at the Richfield Foundation have announced they are moving their popular wine event from the spring to fall. We encourage you to mark your calendars for the evening of October 8, 2026. The foundation has been a great supporter of Penn Fest in providing grant money for cultureal dance performances.

NEW coming to Richfield Penn Fest on Sunday, September 20, 2026 -- the Richfield Classic Car Show. The classic car show is open to domestic and import vehicles 2006 and older. The first 100 cars to show up will receive a free swag bag. Register now ensure your spot. It's the day the community gathers on Penn Avenue in Richfield for a festive street fair filled with music, dance, sports, games, community groups, exhibits and more. The street is closed to motorized traffic and open to walkers, bikers and skateboarders to explore the avenue.

Sunday, September 20, 2026 may seem like a long time away, but that's when Richfield Penn Fest will take place and plans for our annual community get-together are already underway. One of the early decisions is to expand the event by an hour. Penn Fest will run from 12 noon to 5 pm in 2026. That gives you more time to check out food trucks, play games, listen to music, visit the Pet Zone, dance in the street, meet neighbors and all the fun things that happen on Penn Avenue in Richfield.
