Some thoughts for the new yearโฆ.
Not long ago, I received an email from a venue marketing company that shared a simple but powerful statistic: the number of event venues has doubled since 2020.
It made me pause.
My husband and I both work full-time in public service outside of owning and running this barn. This venue has never been about chasing trends or trying to compete to be the biggest or most elaborate space. We donโt have glamping sites or an inground pool, and we donโt pretend to be something weโre not. Weโre honest about our limitationsโand proud of our priorities.
In a growing sea of venues, that honesty can sometimes make it harder to stand out. But it also keeps us grounded in what truly matters.
This space was created out of a deep love for art, design, and meaningful gatheringโmade possible by the support of people who believed in me long before this barn ever existed in its current form. Bringing this barn back to life and restoring it has been one of the greatest joys of my life (along with being a Mother). Every board, every detail, every decision carries intention.
I grew up on a farm, and that upbringing shaped me in ways I still carry today. It gave me a deep appreciation for agriculture, hard work, and the quiet beauty of rural spaces. This barn is a reflection of that foundationโa place rooted in simplicity, authenticity, and care.
When I became a nurse, it changed my life. It changed the way I see the world and the way I value time, people, and moments. It taught me how delicate life truly is and how quickly everything can change. It reminded me to stay kind, to never take a single day for granted, to do what I love, and to care deeply for the people I loveโand for the people who love us in return.
Those values are woven into this place.
Our hope is that when you walk through the barn doors, you donโt just see a venueโyou feel something. We want you to feel welcomed. We want you to feel at ease. We want you to feel the love that has been poured into this space.
This barn exists to hold joy. To host milestones. To be the backdrop for celebrations, gatherings, and some of the most meaningful days of peopleโs lives. That responsibility is something we hold with deep respect and gratitude.
Owning this venue has been a dream come trueโa vision brought to life. And no matter what the future holds, it has already been an honor to create a space where people can come together, slow down, and celebrate what matters most. ๐
