Good morning everyone 🙂 Now that we’re looking at Summer right around the corner, it’s a great time to open up the Beginners/Intermediate class for some new students.
There are openings for kids 13 and up, and adults. This is a great group of people, and I’m opening up several spots in the class this time out.. and we have room for 4 students 🙂
I am also opening up the Junior class for kids 9-12, and I’m making 4 spots available there.
Our space is limited but the love of what we do isn’t. If you either are, or would like to be a Karate nerd like the rest of us, reach out and say hi 🙂 We’d love to setup a time for you to come watch a class and get started on your journeys!
I don’t open up spots often like this, because honestly we love the group we have and it’s not about packing the dojo full of bodies. I do not do this for money, and our fees are a fraction of what everyone else charges. I do this, because this is what I do, and have done for over 40 years now in my life.
We are very fortunate to be able to keep our fees very low at 30 bucks a month for the juniors 9 to 12 and 35 a month for kids 13 and up and of course the adults .. I told you I don’t do this for the money.
That breaks down over 8 classes a month to under 4 bucks a class for the juniors and just over 4 bucks a class for the seniors. Most dojos, and even gyms are twice or three times that amount monthly. Again, I do not do this for the money.
I take this stance to find the right people, who see what we do, and how it is beneficial to them and their families. I do not teach the kids to do competitions.. and we do not participate in competitions. There are plenty of other activities that people can get into to compete. Here, the only person you compete with, is yourself. We are far more focused on helping people to improve themselves.
I love Reedsport and the nice easy pace of life this beautiful Coastal region gives all of us, and I want to give something to our wonderful town.
We keep it small because the work we do is meaningful to us, and to see the benefits that families get, and to watch these kids grow up into great young adults, but also good citizens, is really just the best return I could ever ask for.
I know I don’t really explain all this when I usually post, but about once a year in the spring or early summer..I lay it out like this and those people that are looking for something like what we do, will understand and maybe want to be a part of that. We want people who want to be there.
I know that’s rare in today’s society, but our small group has been chugging along for 3 years now, as our 3rd anniversary is June 14th, and we always want to be open to having like minded folks join us on the journey and see what they can do for themselves. I may teach, but all that hard work is theirs, and they’re doing a great job at it.
So there you go everyone, if you’re interested, I’m opening our doors again for a bit, and don’t forget the first test is always will you take that chance on yourself.
On our first day, all those people that showed up, did so not knowing what it was going to be, but knew it was something they wanted to do for themselves.
Is that you?
Have a great day everyone!
