Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day Montana!

Neighboring Nations will close out the festival in Red Lodge today at the Roosevelt Center with a closing prayer, dancers and round dance.

Curious about water use in Montana? Data Centers? AI's Potential? Mark your calendars for Tuesday October 13th, 5:30 – 8:00 PM at the Roosevelt Center. MSU Research is coming to Red Lodge.

Topics include: Communicating Science through Art, Water Use In Montana and Data Centers, Artificial Intelligence's Potential and How It Impacts Montana.

Speakers include Eric Sproles, MSU associate professor in the Department of Earth Sciences and director of the Geospatial Core Facility; Jack Schnepf, a recent graduate of MSU’s studio arts program and Director of MSU’s Center for the Communication of Science; and Adam Sigler, assistant professor in the Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences and MSU Extension water quality specialist.

In addition to the speakers, there will be four Montana State University students--primarily from the Red Lodge area--showcasing their research. The students are Ava Arbogast, Adin Matthes, Aya Moore, and Brooke Binando. We hope the Red Lodge community comes out to engage on these important topics!

Community Input Sessions Thursday & Friday at the Roosevelt Center.

Tourism plays an important role in Red Lodge’s future, and community input is essential to shaping how it grows. We’re ready to share the direction for the draft Red Lodge Tourism Development Strategy, a project funded by the Pilot Community Tourism Grant and facilitated by the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation.

Come learn more about the strategy and share your thoughts at the Open House at the Roosevelt Center on Thursday, October 8th from 6pm to 7:30pm. You can also drop by the Roosevelt Center on Friday, October 9th between 9am and 12pm to chat with the project team in a smaller group setting, no appointment needed.

You are invited to come celebrate with us in Red Lodge for Indigenous Peoples' Day weekend!

Neighboring Nations Arts and Culture Festival kicks off with a ceremonial raising "lighting of the teepees" and free feed at noon on the lawn of the Beartooth Billings Clinic on Thursday, October 8.

Friday marks the official opening of Neighboring Nations events, and you’ll want to get your tickets!

Join us at Red Lodge’s historic Roman Theater for an evening celebrating Indigenous fashion, dance and culture. Choke Cherry Creek and Brocade will take the stage for an Indigenous fashion show, alongside traditional dancers and the MSU Bobcat singers.

There will be plenty of free events for the whole family throughout Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend!

Get your FREE TICKETS to the Vendor Show, featuring a live stage with music and storytelling, an Indian frybread food truck, and 40 vendors sharing Indigenous art, crafts, food and fashion.

On Monday, get your FREE TICKETS to a free community feed, closing ceremony and round dance as we bring the weekend to a close together.

And there’s even more happening throughout the weekend!

Ticketed events include live music by Indigenous Hip Hop, Rap and Indie artists at The Magpie Saturday and Sunday nights, cooking classes and dining experiences at The Magpie and The Wild Table with Indigenous chefs Kelly Pingree and Ashley Woodward, and Indigenous films at the historic Roman Theater Saturday through Monday, with select screenings followed by panels featuring special guests.

Four days of art, food, film, fashion, music, storytelling and culture in Red Lodge.

Come for the day. Stay for the weekend. There’s so much to experience at Neighboring Nations.
