Two months ago at Cross Culinary, participants cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award and today we are happy to announce the winner(s)! All of the 2026 culinary artists were amazing, but the there were two that tallied in a tie! Congratulations to both The Wild Table and Samurai Sue's Everyday Foods!!

The Wild Table served a delicious curry with naan bread and Samurai Sue’s Everyday Foods served fire-roasted milk bread toasties. (Our apologies for the delay in this announcement but we had to make a duplicate trophy!)

From the votes that were cast, we have selected the winners of the event door prizes of $50 gift cards to one of our featured restaurants. Thank you all for joining us at the Red Lodge Nordic Center this year.

Last weekend we held our first “walking” Cross Culinary, due to the lack of skiable snow. That didn’t stop the Modroo family, who strapped on the skis regardless of snow in order to do baby’s-first-Cross-culinary appropriately! They may have been our only skiers, but all participants had a great time and we were very happy that the feast went on as a walking event. Many thanks to all who joined us!

Big thanks to Spitz - Billings restaurants as a sponsor of Cross Culinary 2026! Unfortunately they are not serving food at the event, but we highly recommend a visit to their downtown location or the new shop at Shiloh Crossing. They serve amazing Mediterranean food and drinks in a hip casual atmosphere with a great seasonal patio (downtown). Spitz is the perfect spot for dinner and drinks before a show at the Alberta Bair Theater or when shopping at Shiloh Crossing!

We greatly appreciate Spitz's support of Silver Run Ski Team and Beartooth Trails!

Red Lodge, Montana has a long history with beer. Before the times of Prohibition, Red Lodge Brewing Company made great local beer. Many years later, Sam Hoffmann started Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company in downtown Red Lodge. By using soft, glacial water, heated by a solar thermal array, adding Montana grown and malted barley and naturally cooled by cold Beartooth Mountain air, Red Lodge Ales produces quality beer for today’s discerning beer lovers. Grab a cold one from Sam’s tap at Cross Culinary 2026!

What began as a horse trailer with an espresso machine, turned into Red Lodge’s favorite new coffee shop - Hidden Basin Coffee Post & Eatery! Stop in and stay a while at their downtown location where Kayla and Lane serve hot beverages and tasty breakfast burritos and egg sandwiches. Their coffee beans are beautifully roasted over in Big Timber and they are bringing that caffeine to Cross Culinary on Saturday, February 21st!
