& Rules Changes for 2026!

RMRA Supplemental Rule Changes for 2026 -

🏁Any rider may, at the AMA referee's discretion, race a different machine in the second moto due to mechanical failure of the machine they raced in the first moto.
- Mechanical failure shall be defined as the breakdown or malfunction of the machine or component that prevents the machine from performing its intended function. The machines must meet all AMA requirements for the class, including bike size, CC, and tire size. The rider is responsible for notifying race administration of any machine or number changes. Failure to notify staff could result in incorrect scoring that may not be corrected.

AMA Major Rule Changes for 2026 -
🏁Section 1.2., C, 5
Violations of the limited class rules as determined by the protest process or by the referee of the event will result in disqualification from the event and a 60-day suspension from all AMA competition. A second violation of the limited class rules will result in a disqualification from the event and a suspension from AMA competition for one year (12 months from the beginning of the suspension). Changes that are cosmetic in nature are allowed so long as there is no performance advantage.

🏁Section 1.2., F, 4
It is mandatory that chest and back protection be worn by all competitors. The protector may be worn under or over the jersey, and it should cover the sternum anterior ribs, posterior ribs, and spine from T1 to T12.

🏁 Section 1.3., H, 3
YELLOW: Caution. When a yellow flag is displayed, competitors must ride cautiously until they have passed the incident that caused the flag. When displayed there is no passing or gaining an advantage and jumps must be rolled between the flag and the incident that caused the yellow flag. Failure to do so will result in loss of five positions or disqualification, subject to the referee’s discretion.
WHITE WITH RED CROSS: Indicates that ambulances, safety vehicles or emergency personnel may be on the course. Competitors must ride with extreme caution until they have passed the incident that caused the flag. When displayed, there is no passing or gaining an advantage and jumps must be rolled between the flag and the incident that caused the red cross flag. Failure to do so will result in loss of 10 positions or a disqualification, subject to the referee’s discretion.

**Note: In Amateur classes, no Electric Motorcycle may practice or race with an Internal Combustion Engine machine. This does not include Youth Classes covered under AMA approved event supplemental rules.
