This has always been my motto 100%
Gymnastics, at all levels, is supposed to be FUN.
Will there be moments of healthy doses of fear when going for new skills, or anxiety around performances, or a need to hone in a more serious tone for safety's sake? Yes.
That is the reality of working in high-pressure, highly demanding sports.
But, this can all be applied in a correct way.
In my humble opinion, I really can't think of a situation (outside of safety) where yelling is needed.
I know some VERY high-level gymnastics coaches, who have literally helped gymnasts win gold medals at the international elite level, who feel zero need to yell or scream or put insane pressure on athletes.
If you notice that the gymnasts you work with are constantly high-strung, stressed out, and getting anxious about their gymnastics, it's time to take a step back and reflect.
