Area Youth Chorus Auditions Singers for 2024-25 Season

The Quincy Area Youth Chorus is inviting area singers to join them for their 29th season of performances. Singers in grades three through 12 are invited to audition for the 2024-25 QAYC. Accepted singers will perform as an ensemble at two of their own concerts as well as join the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Adult Chorus for their Holiday Family Concert in December.

Auditions for the QAYC will be held Saturday, August 3, beginning at 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 333 S. 36th in Quincy. Auditioning children should prepare a song they enjoy singing. Please call the Quincy Symphony office, 217-222-2856 x11 to sign up for an audition time. Additional information is available at www.qsoa.org.

QAYC includes boys with unchanged voices, and girls in two performing groups: The Kinderchor includes 3rd-6th grades and the Concert Choir includes 7th-12th grades. Rehearsals are held either on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons. Tuition is $80 for the season. Scholarships are available and no child is denied based on financial need.

Young singers perform concerts in the fall and spring, and the combined performance with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in December.

Founded in 1995, the Quincy Area Youth Chorus is a performing and educational outreach program within the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association. QAYC supplements school and church choral training with focused preparation and performance of excellent treble chorus literature.

Calling all Quincy Area Piano Enthusiasts! The Quincy Conservatory of Music is going to host the 27th Annual Ensemble Festival on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. Adults who can play the piano or children currently taking lessons are welcome to join us for this fun event of music making! The Conservatory has selected the theme of "Broadway" and will feature beloved songs from such musicals as "The Sound of Music," "Mary Poppins," La La Land," and "Hamilton" to name a few! The esteemed Paul Shelor will be conducting and the beloved Drew Quintero will be our returning Master of Ceremonies!
