On Independent Bookstores Day we wanted to shout out our very own locally owned independent bookstore, Enchanted Books!

As always, this isn’t a paid advertisement. This is just a place that we genuinely love. Thank you for making Quincy a better place to live!

Tomorrow is the day for Indie bookstores! We will be open 10am-4pm and will have a. free tote with a $50 purchase. Free bookmark with every purchase and ARC's available with a $75 purchase. (While supplies last)

A direct message from Brooke Trantor to the community of Quincy:

Tomorrow is Night 2 of Night of Short Films: Brooke Trantor Retrospective” where I am screening 6 short films I have directed over the past decade. Brought to you by State Street Theater & Arts Quincy, the first screening was a grand success & I think Night 2 will be even more so! Would love to have you there. The themes of my films vary, but all center around the resilience of women through different stages of life, vibrantly, boldly, unapologetically, and in a comedic & heartfelt tone.

This screening series has been an opportunity to share my voice as a filmmaker as I am gearing up to shoot my first feature film “Maine Street” right here in Quincy, Illinois. The journey is a long one ahead, but if growing up in this community taught me anything it is that ANYTHING is possible if you surround yourself with the right people. So, I am coming back home, ready to celebrate my roots, and reflect on where life has taken me as an artist after the last two decades outside of Quincy.

Thank you for the continued support, Gem City. Thank you State Street Theater & Arts Quincy: America's First Arts Council ♥️ Love you all & looking forward to all that 2026 has in store for us.
