Next on our VIP introduction list: Westmalle Triple! Here’s a bit about this brew from their website:

“Westmalle Tripel is a clear, yellowy golden Trappist beer containing 9.5% alcohol. The slow brewing process and secondary fermentation in the bottle produce a complex beer that has a fruity aroma of ripe banana and a lovely nuanced hop nose. The soft and creamy flavour, with its bitter note carried by the fruit aroma, is full of finesse and elegance. Also enjoy the deliciously long, dry finish.
Beer connoisseurs call Westmalle Tripel the “mother of all tripels” as the first Tripel ever was brewed inside our abbey walls in 1934.”

“Allied Whale, the marine mammal lab at College of the Atlantic, is leading the way in field research. Home to the world’s largest library of photo-identified whales, scientists use this research to follow them by comparing patterns, fin shapes, and identifying marks. Lunch is a finback whale that was first spotted by their team along the Maine coast in 1982. She has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin.

Flavor profile: aromas of caramel, orange papaya, grapefruit, and underlying floral notes, with hints of garlic and onion.

Hops: Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe

Malt: American 2-Row, Caramel 40L, Red Wheat, Munich 10L, Carapils”
