Our final Board Member announcement for Season 7!

Meet Arezu Berzinji, a California native who grew up in Los Angeles with an early introduction to film and theater.

With a degree in creative writing and more than two decades of experience leading business partnerships, Arezu is a natural relationship builder. She works on independent productions in both cast and crew roles, and she volunteers with the Denver Art Museum and Denver Film Society at festivals, screenings, and filmmaker events, including community involvement with Sundance.

On the Kickass board, Arezu is excited to help expand our footprint and create more opportunities for filmmakers to take risks, collaborate, and get their work (and themselves!) into the room.
When she’s not working, you’ll probably find her critiquing movies, playing tennis, or cooking up some Persian food.

Help us welcome Arezu to the board!

And that’s our board! Huge thanks to everyone who followed along as we introduced the people helping build KAFF 2027.

New board. Bigger ideas. Same Kickass energy. Now go register!

Board member drop number 5 is here!

Meet Alexander Raye Pimentel, a Colorado filmmaker, writer, director, and producer who has made six feature films right here in the state.

Alexander’s work is rooted in telling meaningful stories, learning from the people around him, and creating opportunities for others to grow along the way.

He’s joining the Kickass board because he believes the film community is strongest when people support each other, share what they know, and help each other rise. He’s bringing that mindset to the festival to help create more chances for filmmakers to connect, get seen, and leave their footprint.

Help us welcome Alexander to the board!

The final board member drops tomorrow. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to register!

Board member drop number 4 is here!

Meet Ariana Dae, community engagement strategist, business leader, and the person behind some of the best red carpet energy Kickass has ever seen.

Ariana has been part of Kickass Film Fest since 2022, helping grow the festival’s community presence. Most recently she led engagement efforts for our red carpet experience, so if you’ve strutted, posed, or celebrated on that carpet, you’ve felt her impact.

She’s currently pursuing her B.S. in Economics with an emphasis in Finance and her MBA at Colorado State University Pueblo, where she’s also a President’s Leadership Program scholar. (Yes, both at once. We’re tired just typing it. 😂)

On the board, Ariana is excited to help expand the festival’s partnerships and long-term growth while continuing to champion independent filmmakers and creative voices across Southern Colorado.

Help us welcome Ariana to the board!

Another board member drops tomorrow. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to register!

Board member drop number 3 is here!

Meet Anthony Meister, filmmaker, multimedia producer, and founder of Meister Film.
Anthony’s work spans commercial production, branded content, photography, and digital storytelling.

He’s a U.S. Army veteran with a background in Digital Film, and he brings a mix of creative vision, hands-on production experience, and entrepreneurial know-how to the Kickass board.

He’s all about strong visual storytelling and supporting independent filmmakers, and he’s here to help create more opportunities for bold, memorable work to find new audiences.

Basically, he wants your kick ass 72-hour masterpiece to be seen.

Help us welcome Anthony to the board! 🙌

Another board member drops tomorrow. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to register!

Board member drop number 2 is here!

Meet Stephanie Ivankovich-Shy, who’s been part of Kickass Film Fest since day one and is now officially joining the board.

Stephanie is a former Midwest journalist with a journalism degree from Grand View University, and storytelling has been at the heart of everything she’s done since. Today she’s a marketing director for a nonprofit healthcare organization, serves as Chair of the Pueblo Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and has worked production assistant roles on a variety of film and media projects.

She believes everyone has a story worth telling, and she loves connecting with people, giving back, and celebrating the community she calls home.

She’s also the founder of the Lowriders of Pueblo Basset Hound Meetup Group and proud dog mom to Flynn, her Instagram-famous basset hound who’s been featured in Newsweek. (Yes, really. 🐾)

When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find her traveling, hanging out with friends and family, or tracking down great food wherever she goes.

Meet the man who’s been here since the very beginning.

Our first board member drop is Gabe Coleman, and he’s stepping in as Board Chair. If you’ve been to a Kickass Film Fest, you’ve seen Gabe’s work, even if you didn’t know it.

Originally from the Midwest and now rooted in Southern Colorado, Gabe is a musician and sound engineer for both film and music, with a background in marketing, event coordination, and creative production. Basically, if it’s creative, Gabe’s into it.

He’s been part of KAFF since our very first event, working alongside David & Jacob to build the festival from the ground up. Over the past two years he’s stepped into an official leadership role, leading event production, coordination, and operations, aka keeping the wheels on this beautiful chaos machine. 😂

Whether he’s behind the scenes or out in the creative community, Gabe brings creativity, collaboration, and a whole lot of heart to everything he does. We couldn’t ask for a better person to lead the board into KAFF 2027.

Help us welcome Gabe as Board Chair!

Did we just build a board? Yep.

Kickass Film Fest is getting bigger, better, and apparently responsible enough to require adult supervision. 😂 We’ve officially assembled our first board to help us grow the festival, strengthen the experience, bring new ideas to the table, and keep our shenanigans at least somewhat organized.

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing one board member each day so you can meet the people helping us build KAFF 2027.

New board. Bigger ideas. Same Kickass energy.
Stay tuned — the board member drops start tomorrow.
