Provincetown Portuguese Festival The 3 day event welcomes people from around the world who come to Provincetown to celebrate Portuguese Heritage & Culture.

There’s live music, dancing, parades, incredible food, and much more. The Blessing Of The Fleet includes a procession to MacMillan Wharf where Portuguese Dancers entertain the crowd before the colorful ceremony. Boats decked out in their finest line up to receive the blessing for a safe & prosperous year. With over 30 mostly free activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Nearly 100 volunteers are led by a Festival Team that includes more than 3 generations of Provincetown Portuguese history. Watch for details on our page and Journals.

The Festival Team is very pleased to announce that Steve Kennedy, a wonderful, well-known Provincetown artist has been selected by Nancy Silva and Shannon Sawyer to paint the image which will appear on the cover of the Festival Booklet as well as on our t-shirt and hoodie apparel which will be available in June, 2027.
The decision is yet to be made as to how best to honor the decades of fishing history in order to commemorate the 80th Anniversary Year of the Blessing of the Fleet.
It will be decided by the Festival Team, but will be brought to life by Steve Kennedy on canvas.
We are proud to have Steve on board to help us continue the tradition of the Portuguese Festival and Blessing of the Fleet.
