Day 3 of Provincetown CabaretFest started off with an enlightening masterclass focused on cabaret patter led by Carolyn Montgomery.

Teddy Jannot performed her show, "Tomorrow Belongs To Me" at Gifford House Inn, followed by Shelley Taylor Boyd.

Jake Oswell's luminous show at Crown & Anchor, "Jake Oswell Does K & E Live Onstage" was the first in this year's Headliner Series.

Lynda D'Amour hosted a spunky open mic in the Love Lounge at Gifford House Inn to close out the evening.

Thursday will begin with Brian De Lorenzo's workshop "Constructing Your Cabaret Show" at 9:00 at Provincetown Commons. David Rhodes will offer his workshop, "Using Our Bodies In Song" at 12:00 in the same location.

Mr. Rhodes will also present his Headliner show "Daddy Issues" at 5:00 at Post Office Cafe and Cabaret

Day 2 of CabaretFest has come to a close. Sidney Myer's masterclass in the morning brought joy and insightful revelations to every singer and audience member alike.

Jeffrey Morrissey delivered a delightful debut with "Along Comes Love," followed by the effervescent Lisa (with an S) Gail Johnson with "Lisa Does Liza."

Join us at Provincetown Commons tomorrow morning at 9:00 for Carolyn Montgomery's masterclass. At 3:00 at Gifford House Inn, Teddy Jannot will perform her half-hour Spotlight Series show "Tomorrow Belongs To Me," followed by Shelley Taylor Boyd at 4:00 in the same location with "Maybe This Time."

At 5:00, our first hourlong Headliner Series Show will be Jake Oswell, performing "Jake Oswell does K & E Live Onstage" at Crown & Anchor.

And the evening will end with Lynda D'Amour hosting an open mic at Gifford House Inn beginning at 7:30.

Provincetown CabaretFest 2025 is officially underway!!!

Join us for a week of master classes, solo cabaret acts and star-studded ensemble showcases. Angela Bacari kicked things off this morning with an insightful masterclass.

Tomorrow, NYC's Sidney Myer will offer a master class from 10:00am-2:00pm. At 3:00 at Gifford House Inn Jeffrey Morrissey will present his Spotlight Series show, "Along Comes Love." At 4:00 in the same venue, Lisa Gail Johnson will present her Spotlight Series show, "Lisa on Liza!"

Meet this year's headliners!

On Saturday, June 7 at Post Office Cafe and Cabaret at 5:00PM, Dawn Derow will present her show, "Sing Happy"

A New Yorker by way of Cape Cod, MA, Dawn Derow has been delighting audiences with her eclectic repertoire--from opera to jazz, pop to Broadway--for 15 years. The award-winning singer began her professional training at the Boston Conservatory, where she earned a Bachelors in Music with a Vocal Performance and Opera emphasis. Dawn has performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and debuted multiple solo shows at 54 Below, Birdland Jazz Club, the Laurie Beechman Theater, and The Green Room 42. A regular guest with the Cape Cod Symphony, led by conductor Jung Ho-Park, Dawn has become a favorite at Cotuit Center for the Arts and performed at venues throughout the Cape, including The Office and Tin Pan Alley in her beloved Provincetown.

Dawn’s 2014 album with renowned guitarist Sean Harkness, Music 4 Two, earned a MAC nomination for Best CD. A year later, Dawn won her first MAC award for Revolution, a duo show with Kathleen France. In 2016, the Bistro Awards recognized Dawn as Outstanding Female Vocalist for Legit: A Classical Cabaret, an ambitious show that made full use of her classical training. Shifting back to the Great American Songbook, Dawn won her second MAC award (Best Female Vocalist) in 2018 for My Ship: Songs from 1941, a critically acclaimed show directed by the late Barry Levitt (lovingly known as The Maestro). In 2021, Dawn debuted her Eydie Gorme tribute show at Birdland to rave reviews and won her third MAC award for the album version of My Ship: Songs from 1941. In 2023, Dawn took My Ship across the Atlantic, selling out the Pheasantry in London.

Meet this year's Headliners!

On Friday, June 6 at 5:00PM in Post Office Cafe and Cabaret, Carolyn Montgomery will present her show girlSINGER.

Carolyn is a multi MAC, Bistro and Nightlife award winning singer/songwriter, who has performed in major venues across 36 states, Montreal and London. In 2017, she co-founded the American Songbook Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization that promotes and preserves classic American musical legacies (Jazz, Musical Theatre and the American Songbook, old and new) through education programs, senior enrichment, live events, and Cabaret Scenes magazine.

Now in her second year as Executive Director of the ASA, Carolyn creates programs that reach thousands of public school students annually, across all five boroughs of New York City and recently, Chicago. She employs some of New York’s finest entertainers as instructors and partners with some of New York’s most underserved communities, nurturing their students with music.

Carolyn is bringing her love of performing and classic American music together in a celebration of Rosemary Clooney at NYC's Birdland in 2024.

Meet this year's Headliners. Nicolas King and Mardie Millit:

On Saturday, June 7 at 3:00 in Crown & Anchor, Nicolas and Mardie will present their new show, Their Coloring Book.

Nicolas King is a Broadway performer with credits including Disney’s Beauty & The Beast, A Thousand Clowns with Tom Selleck, and Carol Burnett’s Hollywood Arms, directed by Hal Prince. He has also appeared in Follies and The Wizard of Oz. On TV, King has been featured on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The View,” “Today,” and twice on “The Tonight Show.” Other appearances include Kenny the Shark, 8 years on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, and national commercials, including the award-winning Oscar Mayer Lunchables. King’s accolades include the 1995 and 1996 Talent America Award, the 2010 Julie Wilson Award, 2015 AMG Artist of the Year, the 2012 Bistro Award for Outstanding Performer, and the 2020 BroadwayWorld Award for Best Swing Act. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Ronnie Scott’s, Birdland, and 54 Below, collaborating with artists like Tony Danza, Linda Lavin, Jane Monheit, and Liza Minnelli. His latest album, Act One, is available on Club44 Records.

Meet this year's Headliners:

David Sabella makes his CabaretFest debut with his show, Razzle Dazzle at Post Office Cafe and Cabaret on June 5th.

David Sabella may be best known for his years on Broadway, in the co-starring role of “Mary Sunshine,” in the 1996 revival of CHICAGO, The Musical with Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, and Joel Grey.

Sabella also made history during the 1995 Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition when Maestro Pavarotti publicly declared him to be “Excellent… not good, Excellent!”

In addition to Broadway, Sabella appeared with Chita Rivera at Mandalay Bay (Las Vegas) and later returned to the Broadway company of CHICAGO with Melanie Griffith as Roxie Hart, where he remained until 2004. He worked on The Visit, Kander & Ebb’s last collaboration, for which John Kander wrote the role of Luis Perch especially for him.

Off-Broadway, Sabella received an “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play” award for his work in The Phillie Trilogy. He also starred as Julian Eltinge in Jules, and dazzled audiences in dueling leads in Kiss and Makeup (written specifically for him) at the New York International Fringe Festival.

As a solo concert singer, Sabella has appeared at such illustrious venues as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall (AKA David Geffen), Jazz at Lincoln Center (Rose Hall), City Center, Town Hall, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Birdland Theater, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Urban Stages, Pangea, Judy’s Chelsea, and Don’t Tell Mama. And, as a voiceover artist, his voice can be heard on several network television cartoon series, including Peter Pan and the Pirates for FOX, with Tim Curry, and Teacher’s Pet for Disney, with Nathan Lane.

Meet this year's Headliners:

Jake Oswell holds a BFA in musical theater from the Hartt School. As a featured soloist with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Skirball Cultural Center, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and sang backup for Demi Lovato and Hugh Jackman. Other concert and cabaret appearances include 54 Below, The Triad, The Green Room 42 and The Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York, Provincetown's Crown & Anchor and most recently London's Crazy Coqs. A frequent collaborator with director David Rhodes, they not only share the cabaret stage together, but have been each other's significant others since 2015.

Meet this year's Spotlight Series performers:

On Tuesday, June 3, Lisa Gail Johnson will premiere her show Lisa On Liza at Gifford House Inn.

Lisa Gail Johnson began performing professionally at the ripe old age of 12, appearing in Annie Get Your Gun as Minnie Oakley to Beth Fowler's Annie Oakley. Lisa had the good fortune to sing with the mega-pop group Abba during their 1979 North American tour in the kid's chorus of "I Have A Dream." Lisa won the prestigious Moss Hart Award at the New England Theater Conference for her role as the narrator in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Lisa discovered the world of cabaret after placing as a finalist in Diamond Jim's Sing Off Competition at the Lenox Hotel in Boston. She has since appeared in the Ladies Who Brunch series at Boston's Club Cafe, as well as appearing as a featured performer in Jan Peter's Cabaret Spotlight series in the same venue. Lisa has loved her experiences at CabaretFest dating back to 2016. She has worked with such notable coaches at the festival as Marilyn Maye, Mark Nadler, Sharon McNight and Karen Mason, to name a few. The late, great Barry Levitt said of Lisa, "she is a powerhouse performer!" Richard Skipper states, "Lisa is phenomenal! Go see her!"
