It’s packet pickup day! 4:30-6:30p.m. Once again, the generous folks at Lake Murray Country (2184 North Lake Dr., Columbia, SC 29212) are hosting our packet pickup. You’ll get to see their wonderful Lake Murray gift shop with unique Lake Murray gifts, the museum, in addition to picking up your shirts and bib numbers.

Late packet pickup, and timing chip pickup for all registrants, is tomorrow morning at the race site from 6:15-7:15am.

What is that? You haven’t registered yet?? Get on it to join paddling, biking and running friends for a beautiful morning on Lake Murray at one of our favorite state parks, Dreher Island State Park, on the “jewel of South Carolina,” Lake Murray! Grab a friend or relative and race solo, or 2- or 3- person relay. Race day registration is possible — online only— until 6:00am but it will cost you $20 more. Can you believe that it's almost here?? Pinch yourself b/c it's true! It looks to be a gorgeous Saturday and we're looking forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces again this year!

We're still looking for a few volunteers to help out on the bike course, so if the thought of waving a little red flag and helping cyclists stay on course (literally) makes you smile, and you like donating your valuable time for a great cause, drop us a line at [email protected] or comment on this post. We'd love to have you!

At the race event on Saturday, feel free to hug, fist bump or high-five our wonderful sponsors (listed below) and volunteers. Think about it...without them, an event like this simply cannot happen. We're grateful for every one of them beyond words!

Speaking of...who wants to be on the McDaniels Subaru of Columbia relay team for free? The first to respond in a comment below with two or three names to put on the team gets it!

For those interested in finding a new-to-you paddle vessel for the Jewel Tri and beyond, here’s a great opportunity to demo and check out kayaks, canoes, etc. tomorrow, Aug. 13, Dreher Island State Park, shelter #10. This event is put on by the SC Fun Seniors, so there will be a lot of experienced people with advice and knowledge available, too. Only catch is you need to be 50+.

The race shirts for this year have recently changed for the better! They are now a bright, lime green, tech, sleeveless — ladies’ tank or unisex sleeveless. For those interested in buying additional shirts for yourself or loved ones, you can purchase one on our main registration page (link below) under the "More" tab > Additional 2022 Race Shirts. You don't have to register to pre-purchase one, but you DO have to register or order before Aug. 17 to guarantee one.
