The Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame is proud to announce that legendary pedal steel guitarist and Detroit native **Paul Franklin** will be inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame during the 2026 Induction Award Show on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, Michigan.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest pedal steel guitar players in the history of country music, Paul Franklin has helped shape the sound of countless hit records and has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including George Strait, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Barbara Mandrell, Jerry Reed, Sting, Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits, Peter Frampton, John Mayer, Barbra Streisand, and many more.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Paul carried his Michigan roots to Nashville and built a career that has influenced generations of musicians around the world. His extraordinary contributions to country music, innovative pedal steel guitar techniques, and decades of excellence in the recording industry have earned him recognition as one of the most respected musicians in modern music history.
