SOLD at the MKS Auction. On its way to a great new home.

Another kite in Saturday's Auction. The design is Darryl Waters' 1m Squairform parafoil as built by Ben Huggett. Ben went a little crazy with the stitches and contrasting thread. Still, it's a beautiful kite.

SOLD at the MKS Auction.

A beautiful John Gabby built kite has been donated to the MKS Retreat Auction to support kitebuilding. About 8.5 feet tall and a little less than 4 feet wide. This kite flies in a wide wind range.

Next Saturday, February 14, the Maryland Kite Society holds its annual fundraising auction at the Kitebuildimg Retreat. That's right - you could buy your valentine a kite if you're in the area.

Although MKS does not have the capability of holding an online auction- keep watching this page for various items that we will accept bids on. Bids will be accepted in the comments. Payment to be arranged via PayPal and actual shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

First up - is a fantastic 10 (yes ten) kite arch made up of Ty Billings' "Dancing Bears" from High as a Kite. Each kite is 42" tall and 40" wide. Different colored bears. Spaced 38" apart, the arch is approximately 60 feet (18.3 m) long. This is not your everyday arch.

Long time MKS member and contributor Mike Mosman passed away in his sleep last night. We greatly will miss his presence at retreats and in the flying field.

Last one out the door turns off the lights and takes out the last trash bag. So long Turf Valley - it's been a good 15 years.

Looking forward to being at the Chesapeake Environmental Center in 2026.
