🎉 What a day! The 13th Annual Seacoast Cancer 5K was our biggest and most successful event yet. Together, our community raised a record-breaking $311,000 for the Survivorship and Wellness Program at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, including $140,000 in sponsorship support!
This year's event welcomed a record 2,000+ participants, including 360 Wentworth-Douglass Hospital staff members (also a record!), along with more than 100 cancer patients and survivors and 100 dedicated volunteers who came together to celebrate hope, resilience, and community.
The day was filled with milestones! Cameron Cook set a new men's course record with a time of 15:26, while Emily Gerraughty established a new women's course record at 18:37. Our largest team, The Works Family Health and Fitness Center, brought together 144 members, and our top fundraising team raised more than $30,000. We were also inspired by participants of all ages, including our oldest participant at 87 years young.
Together, this extraordinary community demonstrated the power of coming together to ensure access to exceptional cancer care remains close to home. 💙🏃♀️🏃♂️
Fundraising for world-class cancer care close to home continues through September 30! Visit giving.wdhospital.org to support local cancer care, patients, and families.
