About Portland Blues Experience (PBEx)

Portland Blues Experience has been creating unforgettable dance-centered experiences for over 20 years. Rooted in the vibrant energy of the Waterfront Blues Festival, PBEx has hosted workshops, socials, late-night after parties, and boat cruises across iconic Portland venues including the Pythian Building, Portland Dance Studios, and other downtown spaces. In 2025, as the Waterfront Blues Festival scales back its footprint, PBEx is stepping up. In place of the beloved Front Porch Stage, we’re proud to present a full-day music and dance festival at Director Park, celebrating the styles and communities that have made this tradition so beloved. Our dance community has a long-standing relationship with Director Park and Downtown Portland Clean & Safe, making this a natural choice for our event. This year’s festival will feature live bands, dance lessons, family-friendly programming, vendors, and the soulful spirit of connection that makes blues culture come alive. Come celebrate with us.
