Our first ever Portland Weird Fest was a MASSIVE success! Over FIVE HUNDRED tickets were sold!

Now that the dust has settled, some thanks are in order...

If you think of the organizing board of Weird Portland United as an unconventional X-Men team, then our four-legged president, Aurelia Stardancer, is essentially Professor Xavier (though with twice the ability to walk).

Like Professor X, she’s used her networking superpowers to bring together a cast of alternatively talented and misfitting individuals whose common cause is developing the community around them.

Her Type A organization gave our band of visionaries exactly what we needed: an arm of executive functioning. 💪🥹

We’d be remiss if we didn’t try to help her in return. Our president daylights as a mortgage broker, Christine Lassiter, and has actually been integral in securing housing for some members of our weird cast!

Keep her in mind if buying homes is on your radar. As evidenced by our festival, she’s capable of organizing every important detail.

Hey all my weird and wonderful character and performer friends. If you were planning on being a roaming character/performer at the Weird Fest Sept 7th at Oaks Park, I need you to complete this form by Wednesday. Be sure and complete the Oaks Park waiver in the form as well. It will be a blast of a time. 12pm-5pm. Reach out if you have any questions.

At some point in every young girl’s life, she says wishfully to herself, “One day, I want to be a mermaid.”

Una is that girl who did not let her dreams become memes. She is not only a Professional Mermaid, but also the Sea Priestess behind the Portlandia Mermaid Parade.

Also, she converted a trailer into a 900 gallon swim tank, because that’s just what you do when you have a PhD in Transformational Psychology.

Though she’ll be noticeably trailer-less at the upcoming Weird Fest, she’ll be floating around for photos on September 7th!

Where is it possible to find six foot lizards in Portland?

Fossil records indicate that such beings existed at a time that AT LEAST predates the internet.

But we don’t have the budget for time traveling, and thankfully, we don’t have to!

For just FIFTEEN DOLLARS, you’ll be able to see the Portland Sleestak, an extra-dimensional species of reptilian humanoid, roaming around the Weird Fest on September 7th! 12pm-5pm

Hi folks, Weird Portland United, the only non-profit dedicated to all things weird, is hosting the very first Portland Weird Fest on Sept 7th at Oaks Park. We are looking for volunteers to help us make this event successful.
Volunteer roles will include but not limited to
Setting up tents and games
Assisting vendors with load in and load out
Manning kids game booths
Ticket booth
Vendor relief
Swag booth
Beer Sales Booth

Incentives for volunteering include
A free ticket for you and two additional free tickets each
Lunch, snacks and drink
Choose between free Weird Fest t-shirt or f***y pack to rock your weird with pride
Hob Nob with some of Portland's favorite Weirds like the Unipiper, Portland Sleestak, Una the Mermaid and myself, Aurelia Stardancer, Centaur about town.

The set up time is from 9am-12am
Tear down town is from 5pm-6pm
booths and games can be done in shifts so that you can still enjoy the event.
