Coming up Dec. 31, 2025 in the Hyatt Regency Portland at Oregon Convention Center. On December 31, 1990, Portland native Mathew Weber set out to find a fun & exciting New Year’s Eve celebration. His first stop was a well-known local hot spot where he found only disappointment. At each subsequent stop, he encountered long lines (meaning standing outside in the cold to get into the party), negotiati
ng slow bar lines, and virtually no available space to sit with his friends. There’s probably no need to mention the restroom situation; you can likely guess how that story goes. It was this particular New Year’s Eve experience that prompted Weber to create a party with one goal in mind: Make New Year’s Eve special. Since then, The Champagne Ball has been the spot for nearly 40,000 revelers from Portland and across the Northwest to ring in the New Year in a fun & safe environment. The Champagne Ball pays special attention to every last detail, starting with perfect location for the event. The Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center is beautiful space, and it’s pretty ideal when you can book a room that places you an elevator ride away from a luxurious space from which to begin and end your night. The entertainment is another huge consideration and we make sure that the best entertainers in the Northwest. We want to provide a unique experience in each room of the celebration and we do that by combining live bands, DJs, and professional dancers to help build the excitement through the night. Every New Year’s Eve party needs a countdown & party favors and to welcome the stroke of midnight and we’ve been accused of going somewhat overboard in that area. We have HUGE video countdown productions leading up to balloon drops, confetti cannons, and more. Last but not least, we remind all our attendees “dress to impress.” New Year’s Eve is a special night and we’ve noticed that people tend to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the time and effort they’ve put into looking their best. Our guests are, year after year, the most stylish, classy, and fun-loving we could possibly ask for.
