At the 2026 World Beer Cup Japanese breweries won 12 medals, 2nd only to the U.S.! Over the past decade Japan has won 118 medals at the world's most prestigious beer competition.

This year the Fuji to Hood Festival is proud to bring 25 of the best breweries and cideries from Japan to Portland, Oregon on July 17th and 18th where they have collaborated with 25 Oregon brewers and cidermakers on original creations celebrating the best of two cultures coming together over craft and community.

We're back! 🎆 Its been 2 years since FUJI TO HOOD: Japan/Oregon collaboration festival was held in Portland, Oregon and now we only have 2.5 months more to go!

Tickets are on sale, vendors, music, arts and entertainment are being booked, and we are now seeking more volunteers and sponsors.

With just 5 more months until Fuji to Hood's return to Portland we are now accepting vendor applications for the creative Japanese-style marketplace that accompanies all the craft beer, food, drinks, music and performance.

RIP to a legend. Earlier this year Rogue Ales & Spirits joined us for Hood to Fuji in Tokyo, brewing a collaboration beer with Isekadoya for our festival

Last week we learned that Rogue was shutting down, possibly for good. Rogue is an iconic brewery both in the U.S. and in Japan. In 2003 they launched a Signature Series of collaborations with acclaimed chef Iron Chef Morimoto with innovative beers like Morimoto Soba Ale, Black Obi Soba Ale, and the Morimoto Imperial Pilsner.

For Hood to Fujio_fuji the Isekadoya Brewery made a fun version of Rogue's classic Dead Guy ale called Dead Cat Pacific Northwest IPA. This 7% abv, piney, Japan-exclusive beer used the same PacMan Yeast that Dead Guy Ale is famous for.

If anyone still has any of these cans (empty or full) please save them in memory of a true pioneer and lets raise a toast in honor of Rogue!

Four new Fuji to Hood beers from our Oregon and Japan collaboration partners have hit the coolers and taps with a fifth being brewed next week! Though these beers weren't brewed for the fest, they do come from our mission of building bridges and creating life-long friendships from across borders.

Ghostphobia WCIPA is a collab with Nagoya, Japan's .

Hopped with New Zealand Riwaka hops, Columbus cryo hops, and the newly minted Dolcita hops, this West Coast IPA has flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, stone fruit candy, and even a little bit of coconut notes. Cans and draft are available at all Baerlic Brewing's and in the Portland-metro market.

Wormholes IPA is a collab with .

This Double Dry Hopped West Coast IPA is cosmically super fruity from a galaxy spanning flavor array of hoppy flavors coming from Chinook, Mosaic, Manilita, Columbus cryo, Mosaic dynaboost, and superdelic. Pick up cans at Fort George in-person or shipped direct via their online store, or look for it at better beer stores in the pacific northwest.

ALAN is a collab with .

Brewed for Shiga Kogen's 20th anniversary, this barrel-aged beer is only available in Japan.
HOTD sent barrel-aged vintages of 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022 Cherry Adam which Shiga Kogen blended with 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020 vintages of their The Far East Imperial IPA aged in whiskey barrels. The final release of only 1,200 bottles came out at 16% abv. If you didn't get this rare bottle at Shiga Kogen's harvest festival, there will be another release next year.
