We're going to be shouting out vendors from RCCC past and present that we love and to whom you should cast your doubloons this weekend! Who are some of YOUR favorites? Comment away!

Our first vendor is Monkey Minion Press! In addition to amazing prints in their classic pop art style, Dane and Ashlie have written books about PIRATES, scientists, space, and more for kids and adults! They've been a longtime supporter of PDXYAR and we're proud to know them. Quick announcement: sadly, we have chosen to cancel our RCCC panel for this weekend. We hope to bring you ROUND 3 of the EPIC PIRATES panel in the future, watch this space!

Our crew and friends who were to panel with us are avoiding unnecessary health risks to protect themselves and their families. These are tough times and as much as we want to be there, we have to make what is the best decision for us.

To our mates who are vending, we wish you safety and full sales. :) We'll be bumping some of our favorite vendors of RCCC past and current over the weekend so even if you can't be there, you can still support them with your coin!

For our mates attending, we wish you health and safety. Please mask up, keep distancing, get vaccinated, and do whatever you can to keep yourselves and each other safe. We want to be able to share many more seasons with you.

Thank you, Damsel in this Dress, for giving a serious boost to our piratical holiday spirits! Blackstrap and Greta got mystery packages to unbox together on Zoom today and found some beautiful new gear. We'll find a way to do something safely distanced for the holidays because that peppermint skirt screams holiday joy!

Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day! was born here in Oregon, the brainchild of Cap’n Slappy and Ol’ Chumbucket, and we’re proud to be a part of the tradition. Even if it’s been a weird year with cancelled events, we’re still finding ways to celebrate our love for the Golden Age of Piracy in our own ways. As Scrimp, Blackstrap, Quartermaster Mulligan, and Captain Greta demonstrate how to do a physically distanced photo (and also a really cool album cover?), we hope you are also finding ways to have fun on this piratical weekend while stay safe.

Lots of us are simmering rosemary, thyme, sage, and other herbs to help reduce the smoke smell, but did you know you can use the "tea" it makes to dye gauze or paper or fabric to give it an "aged" look? Perfect for upcoming Halloween props!

Try pouring the leftover water into a Pyrex cake pan and leaving material in it overnight. Let dry the next day!
