Mark your calendars for third Fridays the upcoming DEC 18th! 6:30-8pm

The Voices of the People is community people sharing Community Consciousness.

It is a monthly social gathering of the Friends of Occupy Portland.

All ages, alcohol and drug free.

We have snacks, a raffle drawing, and talented music to enjoy.

Children are welcomed, but also know that when our houseless brothers and sisters take the mic things can get REAL. I call this a pg-13 event for language and expressed hardships.

We begin at 6:30. If you get there at 5pm this Dining Hall serves free meals everyday!

For 12 minutes on stage you can sign up when you get there. This stage has one mic hooked

to the speakers in the ceiling through out the room. This building is wheel chair accessible.

You can share poetry, music, art, stories, and your latest joys or challenges in life. Let me know ahead of time if you are interested in occupying the stage for a full 30min set. Other juicy, informative, Occupy meetings will be announced in detail.

Let us each heal through our expression and attentive community!

Let us each inspire and aspire to be the change we wish to see in the world!

Let us each become more resilient through strong friendship!

Dear Community:

This event is hosted by Friends of Occupy Portland, and is sponsored by St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Open mic contents must be all-ages and appropriate for the venue. This means no obscenities and no "adult" or "mature" contents.

Additionally, all general (non-program-specific) codes of conduct for St. Francis of Assisi church apply to any and all persons attending this event. Since the church has been offering us free use of the dining hall for this event, it is very important that we all respect the space and the people who call it their spiritual home. This is critical in maintaining a good relations with the church officials and to continue this event in the future.

Thanks for your cooperation in keeping the event safe for all and to help this event continue.
