The Port Orford Senior & Activity Center has a very happy problem. We have a surplus of medical equipment to loan to those in need. We have AN EXCESS of wheelchairs, walkers, toilet and shower seats. Our equipment shed is full. IF you need items like this, or know someone who does, please send them to 1536 Jackson, Monday thru Wednesday from 9:30 till noon, or call 509-969-5171.

The Monday Night Community Dinner began serving 30 people to serving 158. With more people gathering around the tables, we also needed more room in our pantry to store the food and supplies that make these meals possible. Because the pantry space is shared with Meals for Neighbors, making the most of our available space was especially important.

A heartfelt thank-you to Bob Bryson, Helen Kruezer, and Dr. Hal Lowery for generously sharing their time, labor, and skills to build additional storage space. Their hard work is helping both programs stay organized and continue serving our community. We’re so thankful for neighbors who step up to make a difference! Free Computer Classes for Seniors
Beginning September 29 through November 17, free computer classes for seniors will be offered from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to feel more confident using today’s technology and reduce the frustration that often comes with it. Participants will learn practical skills such as how to properly shut down a computer, locate important documents, connect to a printer, shop safely online, and much more.
These free classes are made possible through the collaboration and generosity of Beacon Broadband and Southwestern Oregon Community College.
