Well we started off 2020 with a bang, our inaugural Gamble Graveller was a big hit! We were so fortunate to host it before the rest of the biking season in essence was “cancelled”.

As bike shops remained opened and deemed “essential” more gravel bikes hit the dirt and it’s been awesome seeing the sport explode!

So what’s in store for 2021!?!
Not Gamble Graveller, because of the date being early in the new year, we have decided not to push our luck and decided to wait until 2022 to host the next Gamble Graveller.

With that being said, the Gravel Unravel had to cancel last year and is scheduled to take place in 2021 as a three-part race series, definitely check it out - registration is open!

Happy New Year and be sure to be on the lookout later next year for news of the 2022 event!

I am sure most of you have already received the newsletter regarding our 10 year celebration of Stottlemeyer. After the last update from Governor Inslee and the preventing of Kitsap county going into phase 3 we have no other option other than cancel Stottlemeyer.
This was not an easy decision this year to cancel the entire Epic Series. We look forward to it as much as all you riders do. However health and safety MUST always come first!
Prayers that this all is able to be resolved by next year and we are all able to do what we love, and with the people that we so enjoy spending time with.
Debbie, Julie and I all appreciate your support through this difficult time. All registrations have been moved to the 2021 season.
We will make next year an extra great year for sure!

Dana :-)

Rayonier’s acquisition of Pope Resources earlier this month marked the end of the latter’s 167-year history in North Kitsap, but officials said in a conference call late last week that despite the merger, there should not be much of a change in day-to-day operations.

Although the pandemic has been at the forefront of our collective existence, behind the scenes we are actively working to make the Ride Park a reality…(a lot of Zoom meetings)!

We have performed and submitted an engineered drain plan, as requested from the DCD (Department of Community Development) at Kitsap County. With this submitted, the DCD is going to expedite the processing of our permit.

We have also begun talks with OAC Services, the management company that was selected by the County to manage the Port Gamble funds that were awarded (a chunk of which is allocated to the Ride Park).

It’s understood - we have people that want progressive skills at Port Gamble. We hear you. That’s what the Port Gamble Ride Park is all about. Yes, it has taken a LOOONG time to get to where we are right now. This is not a pipe dream - it is a reality - one that’s just taking longer than we all have wanted.

Stay tuned! Send your good vibes to the County - let’s get this permit approved and then we can get to work on building those trails! Thanks to all of you for your perseverance and patience.

Due to COVID-19 we are officially canceling most of our 2020 event riding season. Please see our email to event registrants for full details and information:
https://mailchi.mp/cascade/2020season_cancellation_announcement

The safety of our riders, volunteers, and staff is our first priority and we have been given enough information to make this decision with confidence that it is the right one for all of our communities and partners.

You are our community. We have appreciated your kind emails of support and are grateful for your patience as we navigate this global pandemic. We are confident Cascade Bicycle Club will come out of this stronger than ever with your support.
