Urgent Update!!
As many people know, Blake was diagnosed with a spinal disease in 2011. Through the progression, he has 7 surgeries scheduled for this year. The first one went south.  Due to massive reduction of moment, dance has halted.
Motown is not possible for us so we have been working very closely with Andre and Natalie Paramonov. Along with their help and the NDCA. The Motown Showdown will live on under the direction of the new owners. They are awesome host at their other events and are certain they are going yo do incredible things for the event and the Michigan dance community. Please look to their page for updates on the event.

In an update post from last week..........

Deadline is Tomorrow!!!!
As the Motown Showdown deadline is September 5th, we wanted to remind all competitors that entries, payments, including vouchers are due by September the 5th. It takes a lot of work to put together an event, especially during these trying times over Covid. We are excited to be able to run this year after Michigan had been locked down for so long. We are looking forward to having a lot of fun, and we will continue to take entries as late as possible as all dance events do, however, We will not be able to take vouchers after the deadline date of the 5th, and if payments have not been sent, we will request that they are made at the event as the mail service is greatly delayed as a result of the effects of Covid as well. For those of you that submitted your packets prior to the deadline date, we would like to say thankyou for helping us take on this years event with a little extra time to prepare. For dancers still sending in entries, we are excited to welcome you as well, however, please do not mail your entry fees after the 5th. Please email your entry submissions to [email protected] and we will see you at the event registration!

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!! Prize Money Increases!!!!!!!!

Any Professional Couple competing in any of the events on Saturday Night at this years Motown Showdown, that enter and dance 100 Pro-Am entries between both Professional Dancers throughout the event accumulatively will earn the right to DOUBLE their prize money of one of the divisions that they enter of their choice! GO GET EM!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Dancing Friends. We were asked yesterday what would happen if there were concerns over Covid for this years Motown Showdown. We were sorry to here that Cleveland was moved into the RED yesterday with Covid cases, and we assure all of you, We will continue to follow the precautions even though Michigan has incredibly low numbers, and we will offer refunds with no penalties should someone not be able to attend. We thank you for your support and look forward to a
very safe and fun weekend!!

The last piece and most certainly the incredibly valuable part of putting Motown back together after this insane ride we have all been on, is locking in our Motown Magical Music! We are pleased to announce, Rick Popp is officially bringing back the magical sounds of Motown!! Dancing Friends;

After much thought as to how we are supposed to move forward in the dance world, I have to make what I feel is the most proper decision. As of yesterday, Ignacio and I have lost 6 immediate family members to Covid-19.
This has pushed us to the final decision that we MUST cancel this years Motown Showdown. There are way to many people that we care about that attend Motown, and if I were indirectly responsible for their exposure to Covid, it would devastate me greatly. Although there are many people that think its perfectly ok to pick and move forward from where we left off a few months ago, the virus is still very much alive, and I choose to help protect those that we care for and respect so much. It is with great hopes that there will be progress in our world very soon that will allow us to return to the joy of what we do most. Share the dance floor, give lots of hugs, and laugh from the heart.
We look forward to safely providing an awesome event in 2021. Until then, please stay safe.
